We work with local businesses that are striving to reduce their carbon footprint and put nature at the heart of a strong local economy. By supporting TOE’s Local Environment Fund, you can help deliver projects that are locking-up carbon, restoring habitats and connecting people with nature; it’s a real investment in Oxfordshire’s health, wellbeing and prosperity.
You may simply want to make a donation or support TOE through our ‘One Percent for Oxfordshire’ scheme, whereby we aim to build a network of businesses that support their local environment through donating a percentage of pre-tax profits. CASE STUDY: Brakspear Pub Trails
TOE, working in partnership with brewers Brakspear, identified circular walks from thirty local Brakspear pubs. Each route is about 3 miles long, with up to two additional longer routes per pub. The walk guides are available as leaflets in the pubs and also for downloaded from www.pub-trails.co.uk
Brakspear provided funding to support access improvements along the routes where necessary, and for other rights of way in the area. This partnership programme has encouraged greater use of local rights of way and improved access to Oxfordshire’s beautiful countryside and green spaces.
