Our projects...
Over the 10 years from 1998-2008 TOE supported about 375 projects with a total £4million, with individual grants ranging from £500 to £150,000. Funded projects have included sustainable waste management (no longer eligible); improvements to a range of public amenities including children's playgrounds, recreation areas, community buildings, rights of way and green spaces; restoration and repair of historic buildings; biodiversity projects benefiting Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) priority species and habitats. Here are just a few examples of projects we have funded:
- Steeple Aston Youth facilities - £5,000 towards a Multi use games area and BMX trail
- West Oxford Goes Solar - £5,500 towards the installation of solar panels at West Oxford Community Centre
- Stanford in the Vale Millennium Green - £1,745 towards access improvements
- Charney Bassett Village Hall - £50,000 towards extending and improving the hall
- Sinodun Hills Landscape biodiversity project - £41,414 towards the restoration of species rich grassland on the Norhtmoor Trust's Wittenham Clumps Nature Reserve
- Restoration of Lower Greenmoor Pond - £10,000
- Whitchurch Hill Well - £1,500 towards the restoration of 19th century well head
